On April 16, the University Honors Social Committee organized another fun outing with the Foodies event at the new pizza place, Oven 450. Located inside the University Village, Oven 450 specializes in international flatbread pizzas where you can sample a variety of tastes and flavors from different countries and cultures, ranging from Korean to Brazilian cuisine. Third year Honors student, Anna Wurm, said “I heard many good remarks on this place from various friends but never got a chance to try it until today. My flatbread was tasty! Fresh ingredients and a made-to-order style just added to the appeal for me.”
I went to the event with Wurm and a group of friends, and though there were not any tables open when we got there, we were easily able to join tables with another group of Honors students. While we waited for our food, we took the opportunity to get to know some familiar faces, which added to the friendly environment. The excitement was contagious as Oven 450 bustled from everyone’s energy and enthusiasm over eating at a tasty restaurant with friends. Third year student John Mekail noted that, “It is always fun seeing friends that you don’t normally get to see outside of school.” Eating and experiencing new food with others is a perfect way to bond with old friends and start new friendships, making this Foodies event a success.
